Role Summary

iqbusiness is seeking a Senior Business Analyst for contract opportunities within the mining sector. This role is ideal for analysts with strong experience in end-to-end business analysis, bridging business and technical teams to deliver effective solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across mining operations, asset-intensive processes, and enterprise functions to define requirements, optimise processes, and implement business solutions that deliver maximum value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive the business analysis process for strategic and operational initiatives across multiple business units
  • Elicit, document, and manage business, functional, and non-functional requirements, translating them into clear specifications for technical teams
  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and prioritisation sessions to define business needs
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers, solution architects, and QA teams throughout the project lifecycle
  • Support user acceptance testing, change management, and solution implementation
  • Analyse existing business processes, identify opportunities for improvement and automation, and ensure alignment with business goals

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 2 years in a senior role
  • Proven experience in end-to-end business analysis in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
  • Strong experience in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and ability to tailor approaches based on context
  • Proficiency in business analysis tools and process mapping using BPMN 2.0 methodology
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong business acumen, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Mining industry experience: knowledge of mining value chains, production processes, asset-intensive operations, and regulatory/health & safety requirements
  • Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) knowledge: full asset lifecycle including acquisition, commissioning, maintenance, optimisation, and disposal, with exposure to supporting or implementing EAM systems
  • Understanding of financial and procurement dimensions of asset management, including Capex, Opex, and supply chain integration
  • Familiarity with tools and frameworks such as JIRA, Confluence, ARIS, or similar

 Education

  • Matric (required)
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma, or recognised certification from an accredited institution)
