Job Description

iqbusiness is seeking a senior Project Manager with strong HR and/or HCM project delivery experience to lead large-scale, enterprise HR initiatives within complex operational environments.

This role requires a credible, hands-on PM who is a strong team player, comfortable engaging across HR, IT, vendors, and executive stakeholders, and experienced in delivering structured, outcomes-driven HR system and transformation projects. Oracle HCM experience is advantageous but not essential.


Experience and Skills

  • 5+ years’ end-to-end Project Management experience, delivering complex enterprise initiatives
  • Proven experience leading HR / HCM-related projects (HR systems, HR process transformation, payroll, talent, workforce systems, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a senior PM within multi-stakeholder, matrix environments
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working across HR, IT, Finance, and external vendors
  • Solid experience managing:
    • Project planning, delivery governance, and reporting
    • Budgets, resourcing, risks, issues, and dependencies
    • Delivery teams across mixed delivery models
  • Exposure to Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid delivery approaches
  • Experience delivering projects within large, operationally intensive organisations (e.g. financial services, mining, logistics, telecommunications, or similar)
  • Oracle HCM experience is beneficial, but strong HR systems or HR transformation project experience is essential

Key Responsibilities

Project Initiation & Planning

  • Engage HR, IT, and business stakeholders to define scope, objectives, and success criteria
  • Develop clear project plans, delivery roadmaps, and resourcing models
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies
  • Align HR system initiatives to broader business and people transformation objectives

Delivery & Execution

  • Lead cross-functional delivery teams including internal teams and third-party vendors
  • Oversee HR system configuration, testing, deployment, and integration activities
  • Manage data migration, reporting, and integration dependencies where applicable
  • Track progress against milestones, budget, and quality standards
  • Provide clear, structured reporting to senior stakeholders and sponsors

Close-out & Handover

  • Ensure effective handover to business and support teams
  • Finalise documentation, training materials, and operational readiness
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews and capture lessons learned
  • Close out vendors, contracts, and financials

Qualifications
  • Matric (required)
  • Formal qualification in Project or Programme Management (required)
  • PMBOK / PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent recognised PM certification (required)
  • Degree or Diploma in HR, Business Management, Information Systems, or related field (advantageous)
  • Oracle HCM certifications or training (advantageous)
