Job Summary

iqx the Technology Division of iqbusiness is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior System Analyst to produce detailed system analysis, functional specifications, use cases, and process flows. The role is responsible for analyzing complex business requirements, translating them into functional and technical system specifications, and ensuring that systems solutions align with Sanlam’s architecture, governance, risk, and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

  • 7+ years’ experience as a Systems Analyst or Senior Business/System Analyst

  • Experience in large, complex enterprise environments

Relevant certifications (advantageous):

  • CBAP / CCBA
  • Agile / Scrum

  • TOGAF or architecture-related certifications

Key Responsibilities

Business & Requirements Analysis

  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand, analyze, and document complex business processes and requirements

  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and requirement-gathering sessions

  • Translate business needs into clear functional and non-functional specifications

  • Identify process improvements, automation opportunities, and system enhancements

Systems & Solution Design

  • Produce detailed system analysis, functional specifications, use cases, and process flows

  • Collaborate with solution architects and developers to design scalable, secure, and compliant solutions

  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, data standards, and integration patterns

  • Assess system impacts across upstream and downstream applications

Delivery & Implementation Support

  • Work closely with Agile/Scrum teams throughout the SDLC

  • Support development teams with clarifications and change impact analysis

  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and solution reviews

  • Support testing teams by defining acceptance criteria and validating solutions

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure solutions comply with financial services regulations (e.g. POPIA, FAIS, Treating Customers Fairly)

  • Contribute to documentation required for audits, risk assessments, and change governance

  • Identify and mitigate system and process risks

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a trusted advisor to business and IT stakeholders

  • Communicate complex technical concepts in business-friendly language

  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to capability uplift within the team
